Heights of Baran / Secluded Manor Ride
Domaine du Haut Baran has organized horseback riding tours of the beautiful Cahors wine country.
William and Rosalie invite you to participate in a riding adventure that will be the experience of a lifetime.
 Nestled in the heart of the Cahors wine country, the Domaine du Haut Baran awaits you. Unpack once, settle back and allow yourself to be pampered in the comfortable surroundings of our private estate. William and Rosalie have taken care of all the details to make your adventure carefree and truly unique! Over 12000 acres of vineyards surrounding fortified castles, medieval villages, and ancient Gallic ruins combines with an unspoiled natural landscape that makes a day of riding unforgettable. Throw in a delicious lunch and wine tasting, and you have yourself an adventure! After the ride relax in the jacuzzi by the pool as we prepare a 5 course meal of regional dishes for you, accompanied by the best of Cahors wines.
Heights of Baran : Stationary Ride
Stay is 6 nights -- arrive/meet Cahors train station -- depart Cahors train station or arrive/meet/depart Toulouse airport for extra fee

Space is limited: 7 riders with plenty of room for non-riders
Mounts : hardy mixed breeds( 145-155 cm), about 14.5 - 15.5 hands
Tack : Western, McClellan, Limited English Trekking
Pace : moderate,all rides are 4-6 hours,intermediate ability
Itinerary:
Day 1 : arrive/meet Toulouse airport or Cahors train station, transfer to Haut Baran to unwind and enjoy a 5 course welcoming dinner with wine .
Day 2 : enjoy a copious breakfast, then meet the horses before setting out over forested hills and through lush green valleys on your way to Chateau Bonaguil, one of Europe's most beautiful fortified castles. We will have a picnic lunch at the castle, before returning to Haut Baran for a Jacuzzi and swim before heading out to one of our local restaurants.
Day 3 : after breakfast you are off to Frayssinet to discover this lovely French village nestled in the forest where you will savour a picnic lunch,and explore the church and convent before heading back to Haut Baran to relax and end the evening enjoying another sumptuous meal laden with wine !
Day 4 : breakfast ,then we take a break from riding and enjoy a day of sightseeing.First, a visit of Cougnac cave with over 300 paintings of prehistoric art.Then,off to Sarlat,a medieval city preserving over 10 centuries of architectural style.After lunch and lots of shopping and exploring,we return to Haut Baran for another wonderful dinner with our hosts.
Day 5 : after breakfast you are off to Domaine du Theron for a private wine tasting and delicious lunch.Ride back to Baran and relax before getting ready for another evening out at restaurant.
Day 6 : breakfast,then ride through vineyard country on your way to Chateau Grezel for lunch,ride to Puy l'Eveque,then back to the Baran for Farewell Dinner with champagne !

All rides are rain or shine, so bring appropriate clothing .
