Domaine du Haut Baran invites you to come walk with us!We will be walking in the Lot river valley,through vineyard and forest to magnificent picturesque hilltop villages of golden stone.This beautiful walking tour has been organized to highlight the areas outstanding historical riches allowing each individual to build upon their own knowlege of antiquity. Domaine du Haut Baran invites you to participate in these walks designed to be accessible to anyone who is active.The routes have been carefully chosen and await your discovery.

The 6 day walking tours for 2010 are scheduled : April 24 - 29,leave 30th/July 12-17,leave18th/ Aug 16-21,leave 22nd.
Theme is historical monuments of the 1st - 16th centuries 

Whats included:
  1. 6 nights accommodations at Haut Baran
  2. all entry fees
  3. 4 guided walking tours ( 4 - 6 hours of walking daily )
  4. Transportation to/from Toulouse airport or Cahors train station, tour sites, ect.,
  1. 6 breakfasts

  4. 1 day guided tour/shopping in Sarlat

Theme is historical monuments of the 1st - 16th centuries.

 Walk/tour  Chateau Bonaguil.This 15th century  fortress is a perfect example of military architecture.

Walking through the wooded hillsides you will come accross gariottes.These stone shelters date to Roman times.

A visit of Cahors and its market is the perfect prelude to a delicious pic-nic lunch featuring Cahors wines !

Bastides of the 13th , 14th cent in the area were built by the French and English alike !

 
   

Join us as we explore a beautiful countryside rich in wine history and local specialties such as foie gras and black truffles !
