An American painter, Barbara Anne Harris is an accomplished artist who developed a passion for painting at the early age. Taking classes and workshops through the years, she developed her skills in painting using oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels. Oil painting is her medium of choice, produced in studio and plein air. Her artistic interests range from rural landscapes, coastal life and cityscapes to still life and figurative. She works with a limited palette of colors to create harmonizing, vibrate paintings. Inspiration from travel and a wide variety of subject matter, her paintings have been known to tell a story. In 2021, Barbara co-founded the Suffolk Plein Art Society and co-chaired the first Suffolk Plein Art Festival in partnership with the Suffolk Cultural Arts Center for juried artists both national and international.
Barbara has been teaching classes and workshops for over 20 years. In 2024 she is excited to introduce new plein air workshops in Southern France hosted by the Domaine du Haut Baran. She is a member of the Suffolk Cultural Arts Center, the Isle of Wight Art League and Oil Painters of America.
